Every time you post content to your Facebook Business Page, you are making a judgement call. Am I posting the right content, at the right time?

Six Questions To Boost Your Posting Confidence

  1. Is this content yours?
  2. Is this content new or updated?
  3. Will it entertain or inform someone?
  4. Do I have a good headline & image, or a video to post?
  5. Has it been a few hours since I last posted?
  6. Is it appropriate content for my business and my audience?

If you answered YES to these 6 questions, you can now post! Feel confident that you are going to increase your engagement, inform and entertain your fans, and help your business get recognition on social media!

More Things of Note About Content

Any information, images, sounds, or videos you are sharing online are considered “content.”  Content should be new.  It is OK to share old content if you “refresh” that content by adding new material to it, expanding on it, updating images, etc.  But you want to ensure that people are not getting the same old thing, over and over.

It is imperative that your content will either inform or entertain your audience. Ask yourself, “Would I want to read this?” or “Would I want to watch this video if it was posted by someone else?” If the answer is no, you either need to re-work your content, or throw it out and start over!

Marketing and commercial messages can be informative, telling people about a product you carry or a sale you are having.  Avoid selling all the time on social media.

Think of your social media page as a cocktail party, and you are the host.  No one goes to a cocktail party to hear nothing but “BUY BUY BUY!”, or “Me! Me! Me!” Talk about what they want to know, and what is interesting to them.
