For years, businesses have been trying to find a work-around for Google Maps and Google Places/Google Plus listings for businesses that are open 24 hours a day. Gone now are the days of being open from 12:01am to 11:59pm!
How To Set a Business To Be Open 24 Hours
It’s actually very simple. Set all your open and close hours for every day to 12:00 am.
Open: 12:00 am – Close: 12:00am
Yes, that’s all there is to it! I also suggest adding information into your description such as, “Open 24 Hours a Day, 365 Days a Year!”
Google Official Policy on being open 24 hours a day.
The hours on the listing need to be the hours that location is directly contactable–meaning if calls are routed to a call center after-hours, only the call center listing should be shown as open during those hours. If a service-area business located at the business owner’s residence is willing to receive calls and go to customers’ locations 24hours/day, it is welcome to list its hours as such.
This may be old news to some, but at Hook SEO, we get this question all the time. I would also like to give a shout out to the Google Places master and who originally wrote an article on this topic, Mike Blumenthal, “Google+ Local Finally Supports Businesses Open 24 Hours“.
initially used 12.00 am to 12.00 pm to represent 24 hours working. lol after saw your post changed it to correct format. thanks mate.
Is this still working? I just tried it and it turned to 00:00 on everything. Can’t seem to get it to function properly. Any tips?
It should still work – if not, you can go the the Google My Business contact page and request for a rep to call you back.
On Bing, (I know bing isnt a huge deal but still affects NAP consistency) does not allow for the 24 hr option. Do we just do 12am-12pm?
Seems like most places do midnight – 11:59 pm.
